Starting at Newport Library 10.30am. This linear walk will take us along the River Medina as we leave town and pass through Blackwater and Shide and go along the old railway line. We hope to stop at Merstone old railway station for a picnic lunch and then continue through the countryside to Manor Farm and Godshill finishing at the Smithy Car Park. Cafe and toilets here. The nos 2 and 3 buses run frequently back to Newport from the bus stop across the road from the Car park . This is a flat walk without stiles.
Your walk leaders are Roger (07740 541153) and Eric (07899 795553) who will be happy to answer any questions that you have.
New walkers welcome. If you are new to the Ramblers you can just turn up for any of our walks, unless we specify otherwise. We invite you to come along for three walks as a non-member.

Emergencies
It's very rare that an emergency occurs, but we may need info about
• Any health concerns that you have
.• Any emergency contact information
We'd ask you to make sure that we have ready access to this, if needed.
Some people may wish to carry an ICE (in case of emergency) card. We have Ramblers cards for this.
