Boots on ready for 07.30am start. this is a figure of 8 walk, apx 6 miles. with ascent of 950 feet.
meet outside the toilet block Scorton Main Street. (Gubberford Lane). This walk has no break, but we stop for water when necessary. The walk is along quiet lanes, fields, that maybe muddy, over Nicky Nook, twice, and through a charming little wood. The walk is a continuous climb from the start but gentle until we reach the bottom of Nicky Nook, then the climb begins, there are styles to climb, two steep sets of steps that take us up to the trig point, these steps are fairly even. The first descent is through farm land which is a steep field with sheep, we descend the second time via the first lot of steps we climbed. if the weather is on our side we should have a great view of Morecambe Bay. Walking poles are useful, long trousers, and a good level of fitness due to the steps x 2. dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads whilst in the fields due to the sheep.
breakfast will be at The Barn, if you would like to join me after the walk.
