Apx 5.5 miles ... this is an uphill walk from the start.. a mixture of country lanes, fell land, and woodland, to height if 656ft. Following roads, and a wooded area we make out first ascent via    A number of  steep, uneven but well established steps.. we ascend to the trig point at Nicky Nook .. on a clear day we will see  Morecambe Bay and South Lake Fells..We descend steps, again steep and care must be taken.. flowing the Grizdale reservoir we follow a path to the back of the fell at Nicky Nook.. we ascend this steep, but short fell to descend again the steps.. its down hill all the way from here.  We return to Scorton via woodland, one field, and country lanes.  The paths through the woods will be uneven and muddy in parts.
