Overview

A walk on a remote section of the northwest Devon coast. We will walk northwards from Welcombe Mouth car park as far as the waterfall at Speke's Mill Mouth. The return route will be similar, but with minor variations at both ends. The cliff scenery is spectacular. On arriving back at the car park, depending on how much daylight there is left, we have the option of extending the walk southwards to Ronald Duncan's Writing Hut, or even further to do a loop around the Marsland Valley Nature Reserve. This would extend the distance to around 13 miles. I have graded the walk as strenuous because there are some steep climbs.
