Overview

North Newnton, Woodborough & Bottesford 7.5M

After leaving the church we cross the river Avon and head through Manningford Bohune and Manningford Bruce to reach Swanborough Tump and the Kennet and Avon canal, just beyond this. We walk along a short and pretty section of the tow path before leaving it pass through the village of Woodborough and its wonderful old church.  We complete the walk using paths and tracks, down through Bottesford, to return to North Newnton.   Refreshments are available at Honeystreet Mill’s café.

Expect stiles and some mud. Chalk can be very slippery when wet.  Sticks may be useful and there may be livestock enroute.

Please bring a snack and a drink.  We will be back for lunch.

Meet and park in the car park for St James’ Church.  This can be tricky to find as it is set outside the village, just off the road between Hillcott and the roundabout.  A small sign points down a narrow track.  Follow this to the car park.  This is small so car sharing is advisable.
