Overview

A beautiful walk in a new area. We will explore the Eastern edge of the North Wessex Downs National landscape (previously AONB) with spectacular views (weather permitting) and the villages to the West of Basingstoke. The route along paths, tracks and quiet roads passes a 17th century moated farmhouse, a Norman motte and the site of an important 12th century Benedictine Priory. The route crosses the busy A339 twice.
