From Taicynhaeaf bus stop in the Mawddach valley at SH 690 192 where we arrive at 1113 the steepish tarmac lane leads up through the village & wooded areas alongside the Afon Cwm Mynach then a right turn ascends up to eventually reach the west end of the Precipice walk at Foel Ispri Uchaf. A flat very scenic stretch with Cadair Idris opposite & the Mawddach estuary below is followed by a descent through woodland which steepens somewhat after Llyn Tan y Graig reservoir. Llanelltyd village is reached before the route crosses the A470 & across the Afon Mawddach using the old stone bridge. Then lanes & paths ascend to above Dolgellau & a final descent on mostly minor roads brings one into Dolgellau. Optional refreshments can be consumed here in the various cafes before the1502 T2 service leaves for Aber.
The initial T2 service leaves Aberystwyth bus station stand 4 at 0935 arr Dolgellau 1055 for the connecting T3 service which leaves at 1103 for the 10 min journey to the walk start. The T2 return bus to Aber leaves Dolgellau at 1502. WALKING POLES RECOMMENDED FOR THE DESCENT. PLEASE CONTACT LEADER TO BOOK A PLACE AS LIMITED NUMBERS.
