Overview

Starting at the Kentish Rifleman pub we walk through orchards via Stricklands Wood and up on to Hurst Wood hill. Then, turning anti-clockwise, walk towards Plaxtol via the Old Soar Manor. This is a National Trust property, dating from 1290 and is what's left of a medieval knight's house; entry is free - 15 minutes is allowed for viewing. Then return to the pub. If you wish to join me for lunch there, please advise me as booking is essential. Few stiles, one gentle hill.
