Overview

In the morning, we descend via Absalom's Farm and on to Shipbourne and through the Fairlawne estate.  Then it's on to Basted for lunch.  Mostly flat and open with good views.  There is a modest climb through Fairlawne - 6 miles and 60 metres/200 feet of ascent.

Lunch is at the Plough in Basted.  Picnickers can use the pub garden provided they are customers at the bar.

In the afternoon, we follow a stream out of Basted and climb up among orchards to Yopp's Green.  Then via High Beeches and its folly, down to Ightham Mote and back along the Greensand Way to the car park.  About 5 miles and 140 metres/450 feet

This is a pleasant walk.  There are a few stiles, mostly in the morning, and some short stretches down quiet lanes.
