Overview

Please note the walk is slightly longer than first published and therefore has been upgraded from Leisurely to Leisurely-moderate and finishes slightly later.

An evening walk to see various types of orchids and other plants at the BBOWT Ragpits Nature Reserve in their full splendour, staying for up to 40 minutes.
Expect to see:
Greater Butterfly Orchid at it's prime
Fragrant Orchid
Common Twayblade
White Helleborine
Common Spotted (but large displays will be later)
It's still a bit early for Pyramidal.

We will also walk through:
Aston Clinton Park, (which is next to the private Green Park)
Chilterns Society Cobblers Pits Nature Reserve,
Edge of the Halton MOD airfield,
Part of the Wendover Arm tow-path,
Some village roads.

No stiles. As part of this will be along the towpath it will be a bit muddy if after recent rain, and the vegetation is growing rapidly so please wear appropriate footwear. It's just about early enough to get away with short trousers at the moment.

New visitors will be very welcome. You do not need to be a member.

Well behaved dogs allowed on the walk. Need to be on lead in reserve.
Dogs will not be allowed into Mela Indian Restaurant afterwards.
The walk leader will not be participating in this meal.

The Chinese Takeaway near the park would have been more convenient but has closed down.

There will be some walking along roads.
No trampling of plants please in the reserve!
