Overview

This is a 8.0-mile circular walk-through fields and woodland at a Leisurely pace, 2.5 miles mph or less. We should get some lovely views of typical Chiltern countryside if the weather is good.
We walk from Cholesbury through woodland to Hawridge, past the
church, through Bellingdon and into Captains Wood where we will stop for our picnic lunch.
We then walk to Ashridge where we will stop at the pub for about half an hour for a drink. We then continue towards Buckland Common before turning off to return to the start.
The route has some ups and downs and there are a number of stiles. There will be some lane walking on quiet roads. There may be some muddy areas after rain. Walking boots are highly recommended and walking poles may be useful if it's muddy.
Please bring food and drink for your own picnic
Horses and sheep may be in fields so Well controlled dogs are allowed, but may need to be on leads in some sections.
