Overview

Hello Everyone

Sometimes the areas a few miles outside of our National Parks are just as nice and our walk this Sunday at Osmaston reflects this very much. Rolling open countryside on field footpaths, wider tracks, and some quiet lanes complete the picture. Approximately 15 stiles.

As ever, you're welcome to come along and join us. Let us know if it's your first time out with us so that we can look out for you at the start. Thank you.

Registration: 09.45. Walk start: 10.00.  Walk leader: Eve (07894 947955)

No facilities at the start or during the walk itself.

Post walk refreshments at The Shoulder of Mutton, Osmaston.

See you all there on Sunday morning!

Directions. Primarily for our own members or anyone arriving from the south via the A515 or the A50.

The start is located in Osmaston village, approximately 2 miles south of Ashbourne.

From your home location pick up the A515 northbound to Sudbury where left onto the A50 for 1 mile, then exit slip for the A515 again, direction Ashbourne, and continue on the A515 for 7 miles. Pass Darley Moor motor racing circuit on your right, to then turn right, approximately 0.5 mile after the circuit entrance, signed for Edlaston & Wyaston.

Follow this lane for 1 mile until the T-junction at The Shire Horse pub where turn left and proceed (carefully) for a further 1.5 miles to enter Osmaston village bearing left at the duck pond. Pass The Shoulder of Mutton pub on the right. Osmaston Village Hall and car park is located on your left 200 yards later just before the school.

Please note that some satnav routes may bring you in on a northerly loop via the A515 touching the outskirts of Ashbourne and then back out on the A52 Derby Road which is straightforward and probably just as quick. The car park is on your right from this direction shortly after passing the church on the left and the school on the right.
