Overview

This rewarding route begins in the village of Oxenhope, following well‑defined scenic paths that lead you across open fields and stretches of atmospheric moorland. The trail skirts Buck Park Quarry before gradually descending toward the outskirts of Denholme.

After crossing the main road, the walk enters a charming belt of woodland, where breaks in the trees offer excellent views across Hewenden Reservoir and the impressive stone viaduct that spans the valley. The path continues round into Denholme via Foster Park, before turning across a series of gently undulating fields. These provide fine vantage points over Leeming Reservoir.

The final section returns you through the heart of Oxenhope village, completing a varied and enjoyable circuit that blends moorland, woodland, reservoirs, and classic Yorkshire scenery.
