PENICUIK CIRCULAR

8 mile leisurely walk from Tesco Car Park on A701 Edinburgh Road, Start: OS66 NT237610.  Meet at Currie Library Carpark 9 a.m. for 9.45am start from Penicuik.

The route follows the Cuiken Burn, into woodlands and the Penicuik Estate then along the old railway line to Beeslack and return to the Tesco store. 

Directions if travelling from the Currie Library Carpark :

Turn left, at Gillespie Crossroads turn left and left again onto City Bypass.  Turn off at second junction (Lothianburn) and turn right on to A702, follow the signs for Penicuik via the A703, at the Gowkley Moss roundabout take the third exit on to the A701 towards Penicuik.     

Continue on A701 through Milton Bridge and past Mauricewood junction until you reach another set of traffic lights with the Tesco Store on the left.  

Turn left and park on left hand side of carpark. 

Please indicate if you are meeting in Penicuik or Currie Library Carpark and if you are prepared to be a driver. 

The path can be muddy in places so bring a mat to sit on since there are not many benches.
