We’ll enter an area with Yew Trees before passing through Spring Wood.
After that, there will be an ascent to the highest part of Penllergaer Wood. From this high vantage point, we will have an extensive panorama across the valley over Fforestfach, Blaenymaes, and Tycoch.
We will descend to the ruins of Middle Lodge and continue via the site of the Upper Lodge to the woodland café.
We then make our way along East Road to a lunch stop where there are several seats. Here we can enjoy our packed lunch.
The return journey begins by descending a slope to Llewellyn Stone Bridge. We will see the 19th century waterfall before following the River Llan back to Cadle Mill.
