Overview

This will be a linear walk following the Pewsey Avon Trail from Salisbury to Amesbury. We park in Amesbury and catch the bus to Salisbury. After a short stroll to the cathedral, we then begin our route. We pass follow the River Avon out of the city before heading up and around Old Sarum, the Woodford Valley, Great Durnford and return over Amesbury Down to our vehicles. The walk is a mix of pavement, quiet road, footpaths and byways.

There will be 2 stops, please bring drinks, packed lunch etc.

Meet in Andover to car share to Amesbury. Leaving Andover at 08.40am.


Car parking in Amesbury is in the central car park. 50p all day. Cash or card payment, no change given. What3words: sits.pairings.roses.  SP4 7AW

We will catch the 09.27 am Active8 bus. The bus stop is across the road from the car park.

There are toilets in the car park, however, not always open. Please bring a 20p, for toilets in the market square in Salisbury. There are also some at the cathedral.
