Overview

A circular walk from Moira Furnace taking in the original end of the Ashby Canal and Tunnel Woods before we use paths through the outskirts of Swadlincote to arrive in the town centre.  We'll then leave Swad through Eureka Park and Swadlincote Woodland Park taking in the old Cornishware Pottery before returning to Moira.

This is a mix of public footpaths and town walking, mostly pretty good surfaces but we could still find the odd bit of mud in places.  A bit of up and down but nothing too steep.

I am planning to have 3 stops on this walk.  Toilets are available in Swadlincote town centre and also at the start/end of the walk.

Please pre-book, either via the What's App group or by contacting the leader if you would like to join the walk.

Please note, there are 3 car parks at Moira Furnace - we will meet at the car park that is on the right at the very end of Furnace Lane (at the bottom of the slope near the furnace building). If you do park in the first car park, near the playing fields, you will need to walk through the woods to reach our meeting point by the furnace.
