Walk details
We'll start by walking through Windsor, around the walls of the castle and down to the Thames Path. We'll head downstream, before crossing Victoria Bridge and heading back up the other bank through Datchet Golf Club. After passing the mouth of the Jubilee River, we will walk across some of the famous playing fields of Eton College. We'll pass the wall used in the College's unique Wall Game and stop briefly outside the College main entrance. From there, we’ll head down Common Lane and turn south across Eton Common. The walk will finish by following the Thames Path again across the Brocas and into Windsor, with fine views available of the castle. If time allows, there is the opportunity of a drink at either the George in Eton or the Duchess of Cambridge in Windsor before heading home.
The walk will start from outside Windsor and Eton Central station, but will pass Windsor and Eton Riverside station shortly after the start. If you wish to join at Riverside station, please let the walk leader know in advance.
