Overview

Route Type: Low-level

Terrain: Former railway track beds, minor roads, farmland paths, and forest trails

Distance: 5.5 Miles

Description:

This scenic walk follows a well-signed route through the picturesque countryside of Newtyle, Angus. The path traces disused railway lines, quiet country roads, and meandering trails through farmland and forested areas. Along the way, walkers will encounter the historic Polish Priest’s Cross, a poignant local landmark.

Trail Conditions:

Some sections may be muddy, especially after rainfall, so appropriate footwear is recommended. In the forested areas, a few fallen trees may be present, but they are easily navigable either around or over.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times, particularly in areas where livestock may be present. Please ensure close control to protect both animals and walkers.
