We leave Poole station and head towards Upton via Howles Bay. Weather permitting, we will have excellent views of Poole harbour as we head towards Upton Country Park. The path may get a bit more muddy as we enter the country Park. We head past Upton House towards Upton Village. We have a short walk along a main and then veer off towards RSPB Rock Lea/Lytchett Fields where we will have expansive views of the Harbour. If we are lucky, we may have the opportunity to see migrating birds that reside in the Harbour at this time of year. We will head past RSPB Lytchett Bay with further views of the Harbour towards Turlin Moor where we will have lunch. We will hug the coast line at Turlin Moor before turning inland towards Ham Common, passing the infamous Royal Marines camp in Hamworthy. Ham common is another nature reserve with further opportunities to see wildlife and birds. We continue heading east into Hamworthy Park with its famous multi-coloured beach huts. We will cross the swing bridge just before Poole Quay and finish the walk at Poole Quay where we can celebrate with a well earned drink and cake!
