Love the coast path AND the Purbecks? This walk is for you. Starting from the village of Kingston, we head out to St Aldhelm's Head to enjoy enormous views to the east and west, including Chapman's Pool. A quick stop to look at the 800 year old St Aldhem's chapel (complete with its ancient grafitti), then it's coast path all the way to Seacombe, dropping down at Winspit caves before climbing back up again for more sea views. Turning inland at Seacombe we swing through Worth Matravers (missing the Square and Compass, but peeking in at the 11th century church, one of the oldest in Dorset). From here, it's cross-country all the way back to Kingston with views over to Corfe Castle from the Purbeck Way. The walk ends with optional refreshments at The Scott Arms in Kingston.
Don't be fooled by the lower mileage from our usual 4050 walks - this is a short and sharp one! There are some steep steps and climbs and, of course, descents to match. A few stiles at the latter end (5/6) also. Please text walk leader Ann on 07961 953100 if you want to join this walk. Thank you.
