Overview

A circular walk led by Jane R (mobile no: 07906 987503) joint with the Kensington, Chelsea & Westminster Group mainly following the Horsley Diamond Jubilee Trail over mildly undulating terrain via Effingham Common, Old London Road (Track), Oldlands Wood, Crocknorth Farm, Effingham Forest, The Sheepleas, West Horsley Church and West Horsley Place and passing a number of Lovelace bridges (built in the 1860s to facilitate the transport of timber by horse-drawn carts). Picnic lunch in Effingham Forest. Drinks later at ‘The Barley Mow’ pub, West Horsley.  Map: E145/146, L187.
