Tiger Bay Ramblers (TBR) is a walking group for people of working age. It is based in Cardiff but walks across South Wales and beyond.
This walk starts in Newton on the eastern side of Porthcawl and then heads out along the lanes and fields above Porthcawl before cutting down to the coast path at Sker Rocks where we will follow the coast path back to our starting point. The walk takes in Sker House, Rest Bay, Porthcawl Lighthouse and Marina, Coney Beach and Trecco Bay. If the weather is good we may stop on the beach for a swim and / or an ice cream in Coney Beach.
This walk is pretty flat, there are a few stiles in some of the fields but once on the coast path the walk is easy under foot.
Park on the street and meet outside the Ancient Briton Pub to start the walk. Please give yourself time to find a parking space and don't use the church car park.
