This urban walk starts at the Penylan Library and we’ll walk through the Roath Parks towards the Wild Gardens. Following the Nant Fawr stream, we walk through woodland and open meadows, passing the Llanishen and Lisvane Reservoirs, through Lisvane, and back to the Reservoirs for lunch. We then walk towards Llanishen railway station and returning to Nant Fawr woods and Roath Park.
There is car parking at Penylan Library and on streets around the park. Toilets are available at Roath Park and at the Reservoirs. There is a cafe at the Reservoirs, but queues likely on a Sunday!
The paths are good, mainly either pavement or gravel path. The meadows and woodland area can be very muddy and wet after rain, so probably best to wear boots. The walking is easy with no ascent, but the distance tips it into a moderate. Dogs welcome but are only allowed in the car park/visitor centre area of the Reservoirs.
