We are Herts Weekend Walkers, HWW for Short . We are aimed at people who are normally working during the week and can usually only find time to get outside and enjoy a walk at the weekend.

We meet on the Green outside the Red Lion Public House at School Lane in Preston. We head off in the direction on Temple Dinsley passing the reservoir before descending the hill at Poynders End on the route of the Chiltern Way before arriving in Chapelfoot passing the Rusty Gun PH before ascending in the direction of the mysterious remains of Minsden Chapel before arriving in Langley End. We head up the steep hill overlooking Hitch Wood before heading in the direction of the Stagenhoe Estate and the parish church of St Paul’s Walden and Stagenhoe House turning in the direction of Foxholes Wood and the Firs before heading back to our starting point on the Green in Preston and refreshments at the Red Lion PH.

If already a Ramblers member, please bring your Ramblers card (or membership details on the app) as we submit a register to Ramblers before we start the walk. Walkers who are completely new to Ramblers are welcome to attend up to 3 walks prior to joining, after which we will ask that you sign up to become a member.
Conditions are likely to be very muddy or icy, boots or wellies are a must.
