Overview

Crossing the busy A56 main road we walk to St Mary's Church (St Mary The Virgin, to give it it's full name), through the graveyard and into Prestwich Clough. From the Clough, we walk through Drinkwater Park crossing the river Irwell into Forest Bank park and walk towards Agecroft where we cross the river again back into Drinkwater park. We will then follow the river towards Philips Park where we stop for lunch in the garden of the old Conservatory at Philips Park Hall.

After lunch we walk downhill towards the 13 Arches (old, unused railway bridge) alongside the River Irwell before winding our way back towards and through Prestwich Clough to St Mary's Church.
