We are the Telford & East Shropshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The first short and social of 2024! A scenic walk, incorporating some of Telford's lovely green spaces. From The Priorslee, we take a footpath around the Flash, with its abundance of waterfowl. We make our way to St George's and Redhill Ecology Park before entering the Cockshutt via The Nabb. We follow 'the pig rails', an old tram way, to circuit this impressive beech woodland, returning to The Nabb and on to Snedshill, with its fabulous views of the surrounding area before returning to Priorslee on the opposite side of the Flash. We aim to be back at The Priorslee for lunch at 1.30 if people would just like to join us for lunch!! Their menu can be found at https://www.greeneking.co.uk/pubs/shropshire/priorslee/menu . Please let the leader know if you are coming. Currently they don't require us to pre-book our meal choices but it is probably helpful!
A easy, circular walk taken at a leisurely pace on predominantly good paths and woodland tracks but there are muddy sections! No stiles but a few steps.
PLEASE NOTE This walk is suitable for dogs. Dogs are only allowed into the bar area of the pub but meals can be served there.
Please come prepared for the walk, with water, drinks, snacks as appropriate.
Good walking boots/shoes are essential!
