Overview

Meet: Rainham Marshes car park. Rainham Marshes are brown signed off the A1090, soon after its junction with the A1306. The large car park is free, but donations are encouraged.

There are constant echoes of the 100-year Ministry of Defence occupation of this portion of the Rainham Marshes before it was purchased by the RSPB in 2006. The route is almost equally divided between semi-surfaced paths and boardwalks. Wrap up well. For those who are interested, the Purfleet Military Museum is about 10 minutes away from the start.

Unfortunately, the café has closed, but we can eat our own snacks in one of the hides.
