Overview

The walk starts at Quaker's Yard railway station and follows the Taff Trail to Edwardsville where the route heads east to Pentwyn Berthlwyd and from there, north to Taff Bargoed Community Park.

Leaving the park there is a long steady climb of 1.6km on a tarmac road towards Mynydd y Capel. From there the route crosses open moorland before a long descent back to the Taff Trail.

Much of the route is along tarmac and rough trails but on the positve side there is only one stile
