We are the Worcester Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The first of three walks between stations on the Rail Trail. This 8 mile linear walk is between Droitwich Spa and Bromsgrove Stations. The first section of the trail follows the Droitwich Canal through Vines Park to the Eagle & Sun Pub where we head North on the Worcester & Birmingham Canal. Shortly after Stoke Pound we cross fields to Bromsgrove Station. Further details together with a map, gpx and station information can be found in the attached website link.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE START AND FINISH POINTS SHOWN ARE FOR THE WALK ITSELF AS SOME MAY CHOOSE TO START FROM DROITWICH OR LEAVE FROM BROMSGROVE
As with all three Rail Trail walks the plan is to catch the 10.15 train from Worcester Foregate Street station. However participants can choose to drive and park at or close to Droitwich station or catch trains (or buses) from other destinations. The walk itself will start when the train is scheduled to arrive at Droitwich at 10.24. If catching the train from Worcester either purchase your ticket online or allow plenty of time to buy one at the station. The intention is to catch the 15.12 train back from Bromsgrove which gets back to Worcester Foregate Street at 15.33. (if we miss that it's the 16.12)
NB: If travelling by train from Foregate street station, please make your own way to Droitwich station. Lyndon, your walk leader will meet you there.
The cheapest ticket option is a Day Return from Worcester to Bromsgrove (I think £6.50). You get 33% off with a Rail Card or if 3 persons or more travel together as a group.
