Overview

Meet outside Reading town hall café. We will be following the first part of the St James’ Way (68.5 mile long Camino Ingles walk from Reading to Southampton). The route follows the River Kennet and then the Kennet and Avon canal passing the Fobney pumping station and eventually reaching Sheffield Bottom near Theale. Return from Theale via train or No 1 bus. A couple of future walks are planned continuing along this route. Anyone wishing to collect stamps at venues along the route can buy a Pilgrims passport from the town hall £6 (don’t forget to get it stamped at the town hall before you start!).
