We are the Hike Essex Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is a circular walk around that covers the Dengie Penisula. It starts at Maldon (taking in Promenade Park) and heads towards Maylandsea along the River Blackwater, before returning to Maldon. The walk takes in views of Northey Island (where the first Vikings invaded England) and the Blackwater River.
Parts of the walk maybe damp / muddy, so walking boots / shoes are recommended. There will be a lunch stop inMaylandsea, so please bring a packed lunch. There will also be the option of a pub stop at the end.

This walk was originally done last December and it was feltby the walkers that it would be good to offer the walk again in summer / early autumn (as we didn’t have time to venture into Maylandsea).
Meeting point is at the model boating lake at Promenade Park, Park Drive, Maldon Postcode: CM9 5JQ Parking cost is £10.00 for the day. The ticket machines only accept card payments or via the Ringo app which incurs an extra charge. Please meet at 9:15 for a 9:30 start
