Overview

Starting from outside Abergavenny Cricket Club we take footpaths on the Cambrian Way up the side of the Rholben until reaching the lower slopes of the Sugarloaf, where we contour westwards until turning south along Llanwenarth Breast. Good views in all directions, before we enter the spooky gnarled oak woods where the bare trees seem to be moving as we walk through. Finally we come down to the beech woods of St. Mary’s Vale where the picturesque, but little known, Nant Lago stream runs before heading back to Abergavenny.
