We are the West Berkshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This walk starts from the point where the B4000 crosses the Ridgeway at the top of Ashbury Hill. We shall follow the Ridgeway in a south-westerly direction for a couple of miles, before turning north down a dry valley into the attractive village of Bishopstone, where we will stop for elevenses in the churchyard. We shall then continue NE to Ashbury via the hamlet of Idstone, before returning to the Ridgeway past Ashbury Church. There are no stiles, and the only significant climb will come at the end when we go back up to the Ridgeway. Given fine weather, there will be impressive views over the surrounding countryside.

Please park where the B4000 Lambourn to Ashbury road crosses the Ridgeway. Parking is available on both sides of the road.
