Join us for a delightful and pretty riverside walk taking in Penton Hook Lock, Laleham Park, Chertsey Lock and Dumsey Meadow before reaching Shepperton Lock and ferry crossing. Much of the route is open with fabulous views over the river and there are potential ice cream stops.
Weather permitting, we will probably lunch at Dumsey Meadow, site of special scientific interest. There is a pub; The Kingfisher close by for a drink/use toilets. In the meadow there are two benches (up to 8 people) and ample picnic space – bring something to sit on and a packed lunch.
The route follows the Thames Path: is level and on well used tracks. Keep an eye out for other users including cyclists, joggers and walkers. Assuming the weather is dry, good walking shoes/trainers should be OK for the walk.
