This loop walk uses green lanes and pasture to access the coast path at Pen y Cwm, with some mud, slippery surfaces and gradual but persistent grades. The coast path has steep climbs and road walking (alternatively Newgale beach could be used for over a mile). We use the National Trust created permitted farmland paths to exit the coast path via their Maidenhall car park. Climbing up to Roch Gate using quiet country lanes we return to the cars. Good views for the majority of the route.
This walk is on the strenuous end of the national ramblers moderate ramble grade. Please bring a packed lunch and drinks we will stop for morning break, lunch and the views.
Sorry no dogs.
Given the time of year and the openness of most of the walk poor weather may result in the cancellation and rescheduling of this walk, please check this website the evening before to save a wasted journey
