Overview

This is a moderate walk of approximately five miles. The walk begins with a fairly steep climb out of Rothbury which we will take at a leisurely pace. The walk is then undulating on paths and tracks across moorland with beautiful views and through conifer woods culminating in a steep descent into Rothbury. There are three stiles on the walk.

We would strongly recommend wearing boots and the use of sticks to assist with both ascent and descent.

The meeting point for the walk is Cowhaugh car park on the south side of the river.

The car park is free. There are no toilets in the car park but toilets are available in Bridge Street five minutes walk from the car park.

There are no toilets or cafes on the walk but cafes and pubs are available in Rothbury.

The walk leader is John Finn who can be contacted by phone (07584) 639414 or
