Overview

9 miles moderate walk with 900ft of ascent. The walk follows the River Derwent from Rowsley passing the Peak Rail heritage railway to Darley Bridge. It then climbs onto Stanton Moor and heads towards the Nine Ladies stone circle before descending to pastureland and the grade ll listed building Stanton Woodhouse Farm, finally joining the road to return to Rowsley. The terrain is woodland, moor and farm land.

Rowsley South Station: DE4 2LF. This gives free parking, toilets and a chance to have tea and cake before the long drive home. The station is easily accessed from the A6 where there is a sign pointing to Peak Rail.
