Join us for a winter walk on the edge of The Wolds.
From Settrington Village Hall, the walk takes us beside the beck, past the old station and over the fields to North Grimston (footbridge and a few stiles) for a coffee stop and visit to its historic church. Then it's up Grimston Hill and along the track to Settrington Beacon via Wood House Farm (lunch on the way). We return via Bassett Brow, Wold House and Wardale, but there are options to shorten the walk if the weather is poor.
The walk is on field paths, good tracks and some short road sections. There's a few ups and downs, but in clear weather you'll be rewarded by great views over the Vale of Pickering.
Parking is available at the Village Hall (£2.50 charge - leader will collect) or on the street (with consideration for others).
Some field paths are steep and could be slippery if wet. Wear boots, bring warm & waterproof clothing. Walking poles could be useful.
