A short scenic walk from the Village Hall takes us beside the pond, past the church and over to Paper Mill Farm and Ellerburn. After visiting St Hilda's Church and exploring Kirkdale Slack, we'll return to the village alongside Thornton Beck and past Victory Mill.
After the walk, please join us in the village hall for some festive refreshments and a tour of the Christmas lights in the village.
It's a walk on good tracks and paths climbing steadily out of the village and descending to the Ellerburn Valley. Boots are advised since it could be slippery and wet in places. Please wear something warm - it's a winter walk.
The start point is the rear of Thornton Dale Village Hall (narrow entrance off Pickering Road) where there are 12 parking spaces for hall users. If full, please use the main village CP (pay & display) or street parking.
