Overview

From the Church we head west along South Ings Lane to the edge of Spaunton Quarry then in a north westerly direction along lanes and across fields to the south of Hutton le Hole. Here we start a climb up the hill known as Austin Head passing through two narrow squeeze stiles until we come onto the track heading east ( lovely views on a clear day ) to Grange Farm. After walking through Spaunton we walk across fields passing Oldfield Pond and into Hagg Wood to reach the road and onto Lower Askew. Then its south over fields and into woodland to Appleton Mill Farm where we walk up the road a little way then join the track at the edge of Hell Bank Wood and continue until we pick up the path climbing up Ridings Bank Wood . We finish the walk by crossing a field and onto a track to the village.

Please note, it will be muddy underfoot ! '
