Overview

A walk with Terry along the Canal Towpath, fields & tracks to a River Derwent bank/beach for lunch. We then cross fields, a bit of woodland to go over the Shardlow Locks with a small dog leg detour to see the confluence of the Rivers Derwent, Trent and the start of the Trent & Mersey Canal. Return to the Car Park, which is convenient for two pubs and a beer garden.
