Overview

This walk takes us past some of Richmond's historic buildings and then concentrates on places with extensive views: first the Terrace Gardens, and then through Richmond Park, pausing at King Henry's Mound, Pembroke Lodge, and near Thatched House Lodge. (You may like to bring binoculars, for views - weather dependent, not guaranteed! - of Windsor Castle, St Paul's cathedral, Staines and Woking). Then we pass a prehistoric burial mound at King's Clump before leaving the park at Kingston Gate. Bus route 371 passes nearby. We will stop for refreshments at Pembroke Lodge. There is also an outdoor café at Kingston Gate at the end of the walk. Loos at Richmond Gate, Pembroke Lodge, and Kingston Gate. Finish c13:00hr
