Enjoy a just under 7 mile walk in the lovely countryside around Showborough and Twyning, followed by the opportunity to visit the Showborough House Garden Sculpture Exhibition, to view the incredible selection of art and sculpture in the delightful gardens there. Admission and parking are free, donations welcome. www.showborough.com
Note: This is third of our 4 planned visits to Showborough. The date of the last visit is Saturday 14th June, when there will also be an option to do a longer 10 mile version of the walk.
Our route takes us via Twyning, Church End and Shuthonger Common. We will have a coffee/snack break at Mythe Brook near the Severn and we should be back at Showborough in good time to enjoy a picnic lunch there (picnics in the meadow/parking area only please). Showborough does also have an outdoor tea room (tea, coffee, cake, refreshments etc) and toilets, as well as the exhibition.
Most of the walk is on good paths & tracks, plus a bit of road. There are quite a few stiles and it is fairly undulating, but there is nothing very big or steep. We could meet some livestock in a couple of fields.
Parking is free at Showborough, as is entry to the gardens and art/sculpture exhibition. To get there you are advised to use Google maps. Set the location pin on Showborough House and follow the directions carefully. If SatNav is set using the postcode it will send you to Strensham services!
