We are the Manchester and Salford Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
SLOW WALK – 2 hours max around Salford Quays. Starting from outside The Lowry Theatre we will walk towards the waterfront area of Media city passing by the Media city metro stop, Blue Peter Garden and through the Piazza (open area space) with good views of the docks and various multi use buildings there. After crossing over the bridge towards the Imperial War museum north we will cross back along the Millennium bridge and turn right along the ‘Salford Riviera’ again with good views of the Manchester Ship Canal returning back to the Lowry Theatre.
There are toilets and refreshments at the Lowry Outlet and Theatre at the start and end. The walk is on hard surfaces but good shoes are recommended particularly if the weather is bad.
Outside main entrance to Lowry Theatre, Salford Quays. You can reach this walk by public transport – Media City Metro is only a short walk to the Lowry Theatre and bus no 50 stops almost outside the theatre. Multi storey car parking is also available in the Lowry outlet.
