From Smatcher Wood Car Park we follow a track down to Yardro and continue to Gilwern Dingle. Walking on a mixture of tracks, field paths and lanes we work our way up to Burl Hill, where weather permitting we can enjoy far-reaching views in all directions. We return via Pool Redding on pasture and woodland tracks.
Obvious access is from the lane almost opposite the turning to New Radnor off the A44 but this is steep and narrow with an acute right turn into the unsigned car park. From Kington, I suggest taking the first turn on the left after Walton, signposted Yardro, turn right twice, the car park is then on the left.
If you would like to join this walk, please book a place with the leader. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your booking so that someone else can take your place. If you turn up without booking, we may have to turn you away.
