From The Globe carpark we will take a leisurely walk following the Ivanhoe Way to the Ashby Canal, arriving at Shackerstone Station for lunch. There is a charge of £1 for a Platform Ticket which will allow us to use the toilets and café for a drink and something to eat if wanted. We can eat our sandwiches outside on the benches. There is also a small museum for railway enthusiasts. From Shackerstone we make our way back to The Globe.
There are 5 or 6 stiles. No hills. First part of the walk is across crop fields -care needs to be taken as path has become overgrown. There is also some lane walking and canal walking on the way back. Hope to see you on 6th August.
Wearing long trousers is advised, as first part of the walk path is quite overgrown. A café for drinks and snacks and toilets at Shacklestone Station. Platform charge of £1 payable for platform ticket.
