Starting at Littleton Farm on the A285 Petworth-Chichester road (where we will be dropped off), the track climbs steadily through trees and fields towards Sutton Down, through Slindon Estate owned by the National Trust with outstanding views of the south coast and Isle of Wight. We will walk onto a flint track, a part of an old Roman road, reaching Bignor Hill which overlooks the Weald. The A29 on Bury Hill will have to be crossed providing further fine scenery across the Arun Valley. At High Titten, a sign indicates the midway point between Winchester and Eastbourne. We pass through Coombe Wood towards Rackham Hill where we will walk down a track to the B2139 to catch the coach. Lots of lovely, long-reaching views throughout this 10 mile leg.
