Overview

BOOKING REQUESTED

Kirklees Way to Yorkshire Water conduit to reach Deer Hill reservoir for lunch. Then over Binn Moor to follow Pennine Way back to Wessenden.  Two moderate ascents but lots of flat terrain.  Risk assessment: One stony track, one tricky stream crossing after heavy rain and seven stone stiles (with metal supports to assist walkers) to cross.

Roadside parking at Wessenden Head. Take M60 to J23 to Ashton then follow A635 signed Mossley and Holmfirth. Approx 5 miles after passing Dovestone reservoir on your right look for a sign indicating Meltham left and Holmfirth straight on; immediately after passing sign park on the left or right.
