A walk with David, focused on shows of Bluebells in Shaw Wood and along the way. Good views of the local environs, including a walk past Wingfield Manor. Seven stiles in all, none of them likely to cause us any problems. Three quarters of a mile of minor road walking, ascending to our morning break in Jacksons Lane, after reaching two and a quarter miles. Recce’d at the end of March, very little in the way mud, but the last field before the finish was recently ploughed, including the path! It may be planted with corn by the time we do the walk.
The last part of the walk includes half a mile of grassy incline. Sheep in some fields, so dogs on leads please. Car parking in large layby off B5035.
Risk Assessment. First off to cross over the B5035 from the layby, straight road, may be fast traffic, take care, good sight lines. Minor road walking, keep right facing oncoming traffic, very little expected. Beware of tree roots on woodland paths, tripping hazard. Seven various stiles, the wooden ones, slippery if wet. We will walk, via a tunnel under the railway line, roof quite low at one end, taller people take care, it hurts! 07918882152 my contact number
